Mex has 55 gallon drums that he can use for gas but I don't think he's going to.
I get the feeling that he's not worried about losing power at all like I am thanks to you.
It kinda depends on a couple factors....power outages typically occur more with heavy ice and stupid people taking out poles trying to drive. We were lucky here as we had probably 1/2 inch of ice but no power issues. Even though temps have not gone above freezing, most of the ice is gone off the aviary netting and the gates
 
If I lose power I'll freeze to death do who gives a shit about the pipes.
There's not a plug on this thing that I can just unplug and plug into a generator.
yours is a gas furnace like mine......not electric but the blower is electric that’s the issue if power goes out

If you get cold, boil water on the stove and fill your hot water bottles. Snuggle under the blankets. As long as the stove is working, you can heat the house. My recommended way is to make gumbo. I have a coleman stove that I can bring inside and cook with.

It's all good. I heard we might be able to make a snowman this week, too. :rant
