Interesting you bring that up. I knew someone who put rice in a sock, and warmed it in the microwave when they had a cold. The potato could probably handle higher heat though.
I do this for freshly hatched chicks. Warm rice sock.

Wonder if the duck sits on the pup when it grows up...
I wouldn’t worry about losing power so much as I would water mains bursting in your area. They are not easy fixes so if a lot pop it will be a long tome without water.
We are on well water. When electric goes out, the well pump does too. We draw up water in big pots for cooking and drinking. And fill the water troughs in the garage to have water for flushing stools. Grandma always said “If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it is brown flush it down.”
WTF really :smack
It’s the thing that’s gonna save your pipes from bursting and you from freezing. If all else fails crack your faucets alittle and let them run to keep the water flowing
Open cabinet doors under sinks that are located on an outside wall and drip those faucets.

so did anyone catch the big remodeling boo boo?? when we went from a vanity to a pedestal sink, the mirror and light bar are off center and have to be moved. they also changed the brackets on the mirror sometime over the last 10 years so we have to remove the old anchors, the new anchors and patch/paint the walls :th
Nope I didn't even notice. Lol
