⭐ Kiki's Year Long 🌶️

I got into them because I lived in town and couldn't have chickens like I did as a kid. I met a lot of great people and had a collection and set-up at Bird Marts that garnered some recognition from breeders in other states which was pretty cool. Fast forward about five years and a romantic relationship ended and I get really, really depressed and I struggled to take care of myself, much less hundreds of birds that depended on me. It was all too much. Plus a lot of my older friends were retiring from the breeding community and some others moved out of state. Combine that with a really bad rat problem (like losing $1600 in one night) I decided to sell all of them off. I got a few at the new house and a rat snake managed to get into the room because the door to the garage doesn't fit and this landlord is also a POS. lol So I have to get that fixed. I'd also like to get a way of cooling and heating the room that is more reliable than me opening windows and running space heaters. So at the moment all I have is the outside birds.
:hugs

I keep a whip in the bedroom. Just for that purpose!
Woke up to woodpeckers assaulting my house. Chased them off 3936 times. Finally grabbed the whip and stomped outside. Cracked it and they all scattered. So did the cows out of the pond and the Starlings out of the pasture. I also flushed 3 ducks from the woods.

No more woodpeckers though. #winning

Amazing! I'm currently on a waiting list for Zebras. I used to own Gouldians.
waiting list??? wow! i had 10+ zebras at one time but down to my last female that I’m going to try to take to MIL to put with its lone sibling. i lost some overwinter that got themselves wedged in a paper towel tube and lost another 3 during our memorial day trip because i had them separated into the cage to try and protect their nest from the budgies. ds2 found them dead in their house just before we returned home so I’m not exactly sure what happened.

They've been surprisingly hard to find here. I can find more exotic species no problem, but zebras? Nope.

got all of my morning errands done and was planning to work on the house and club muddy while mr muddy did his errands, but best buy just called and my 2nd replacement ipad is ready to pick up :th so i have to go with them now!

I'm half tempted to just go for canaries instead. They're quite appealing.
