I had a hummingbird visit my hollyhock this morning. It's a volunteer, and I deliberately let it grow. I'll chop it down in the fall, but I expect it will grow back in the spring. This is its second year so far, and it survived getting chopped down last fall.

Why chop it down? Let it go to seed and collect the seeds.
