O HE A BIG ZESTY
YES MAKE MORE(Hey everyone, here's a quick little story about Ice and Snow and the Awakening of the Sun, I had a lot of fun with this and I would love to make more if y'all liked this one!!!)
The old Patched dog gathered the pups to her, the small shapes bundled together and their ears perked towards her in interest. She eyed them up for a moment before she put on her most mystical voice, her croaking voice lowered as she started her tale.
“Cagn was a young being the last time the heat of the Sun didn't scorch our pawpads. Legend says that before the warthogs and even the elephants of western lands had their sharp tusks or the lions their terrifying roars and the hyenas their hideous laugh, yes even before we were blessed with our painted pelts, there were winters unlike any other, winters that lasted all year. The wind may carry a cool breeze now but back in this dawning age there was Snow and Ice during this endless winter. They nipped at the paws and hooves that walked upon them and would freeze pups like you, cursing them to an endless cold slumber. It was a hard time for all and Cagn found themselves inconvenienced by the chill. He took it upon himself to travel far to the north, to lands a Painted Dog could never hope to reach but luckily cunning Cagn took a form of a mighty cloud spirit and with such a form he could make it to the cave of which the Ice and Snow bleed from! He ran across the sky for many seasons, along the way he had to battle the forces sent by the Cave of Ice and Snow, blizzards that rained sharp broken off pieces of Ice. Cagn fought through it all until he arrived at the Cave, he shifted into a mighty Leopard but not one of the Savannas but one of Snow itself. The ground was littered with the nipping pure white sparkling Snow, it clung to Cagn's feet desperately but he knocked it back with each step. Once he made it into the white shining Cave, he was met with Ice. Ice was sharper and harder and when Cagn went to bite at it, his jaws were locked into it. He would have been trapped if he hadn't shifted into pure white hare with long fur, he glared at Ice, he was not one to battle and he wasn't taking to kindly to all the fighting he had to endure on the way. He knew that Ice and Snow took to fighting over wit and he refused to bend to their ways, with a booming voice he spoke clearly to Ice, who was almost as cunning as Cagn himself. “Ice, you and your minion Snow know that your brute strength is too mighty for me and with that I ask if you would look to my southern home and see that we have not taken to your chill well! I ask you to wake the Sun from its slumber as it has the highest judgment, now I know that they have slept since the Beginning and I understand if you fear angering and falling to their hands but if you had any honor you would at least see my plight and respect me enough on making it here to do this one favor for me.” Cagn knew that Ice could not back down from this and with a growl and a shaking of the Earth, Ice took down the mighty clouds that wrapped the Sun in sleep. With that the Sun let out a mighty roar of fury at having been woken. The battle between Ice and the Sun started then, while they were busy scorching and freezing their parts of the world, Cagn noticed that his southern home was blazing in the Sun's raging heat and he did what he does best. He grabbed at fallen pieces of Ice and the Sun and he creeped away unharmed and with his cunning he made gifts out of their pieces. He gifted the creatures of his home with ways to fight against the new world of the Sun’s rage. To us, the Painted Dogs, he gave our pelts their colors. He painted Fire from the Sun into our black pelts, the Fire courses through us so we can run and hunt freely in the heat. Then he painted Ice into our pelts which made sure that the Sun could never really rule over us! Cagn made us out of both Ice and Fire unlike the rest of the creatures because he saw that we shared his cunning and saw we would not choose to become slaves to either Ice or the Sun like many of the other creatures of the world and for that we are loyal completely only to Cagn as he favors us among all else, but the tale of Cagn's will and the Painted Spirits are for another time, now pups go to your Nurturers and sleep well knowing both the Sun and Ice course through your Painted pelts.”
