Simeon heard the doorbell ring and went to open it. He came in with a medium sized box of chocolates and set it before her. "As promised", he chuckled.

Brooklyn looked to him expectantly, laughed underbreath. "Really? I thought you were kidding when you mentioned buying me chocolate.."

Without hesitating, Amy replied, "We'll just have to make sure they don't find you, then." She closed the door behind Artemis and bolted it, then slipped the chain at the top into its loop to double secure the door. She returned the knife to its drawer then beckoned for Artemis to follow her. "Since you're surely being searched for right now, we'd best go upstairs to talk and I can get you a dry outfit," she explained.

Artemis smiled with gratefullness for Amy's faithful friendship, trailing her voice through the darkness as she was lead upstairs.

Amy closed the apartment door behind them and locked it, something she didn't often do. She cast a quick eye over the main room which was consisted of a living room with a kitchenette. A chair in the corner was piled high with laundry, she noted, but other than that, the room was spotless. "Bathroom's over there," she said with a nod towards a door at the other end of the room. "You go clean up and I'll find something for you to change into. 'Kay?" She looked to Artemis for a response.

Vanessa pushed herself up onto the corner of a table across from Jaxson. "I know you're awake. How is your head feeling?" She asked, watching him closely.
Frowning, Jaxson gave in and opened his eyes to acknowledge her. "It's felt better," he said flatly.
"You took quite a beating," Vanessa said dryly. She was smirking slightly, at him, and he knew then that she wasn't convinced that Artemis had done so well getting out on her own. "Quite a beating. I was actually going to request that you be given leave for a couple days to recover. Since, you obviously aren't in a fit enough state to return immediately. Besides, you've done extra hours this week, they surely can't refuse this."
Jaxson nodded slightly to stall for time to think of a reply. He had indeed done extra hours, and with good reason, too. "Sounds good to me," he said, deciding to keep his reply short.
"I'll go right now, in that case." Vanessa stood and went to a counter to get a cup and two pills she had set beside it earlier. "Take this in ten minutes," she instructed, setting the items beside Jaxson.
Jaxson watched her as he waited for more. There was always more to be said.
"And stay seated. I don't want you standing abruptly then passing out. That wouldn't do anyone any good." Vanessa, seeing that he had paid attention, turned to leave. "I'll be back, half hour at the most, and then we'll talk."
Did this whole conversation not count as talking? Jaxson mumbled an "okay" as he watched her leave, the door closing behind her gently.

Artemis nodding before leaving to use the bathroom. Closing the door she undressed, afterwards drying herself, and taking a clean towel that had been folded and laid under the cabinet sink and wrapped it around herself.

"No." Devine said quietly, leaning back into his seat. "My boss realized long ago he couldn't control, only that it were better to have me on his side, and to have me complete assignments; either to occupy my time or so he didn't have to."
There was a rather long silence as Aya struggled to find anything to say. This man was pretty much an admitted murderer, probably a stalker, and had shoved all of these facts onto her which was added drama that she didn't really want in her life. She glanced out of the window a few times as she thought of what to say.

"Do you want me to go order some coffee for us? We're sitting in these people's coffee shop, so I believe they probably deserve to get paid." Aya said politely, though her expression was now more stern than pleasant.

Trixie, heart in her mouth, tried to find a place in the barren room to hide. She ended up behind the door, terror in her eyes at what was to come, at the footsteps coming closer with every passing second.
But she could - and would - fight.
Charlie hid with her, and waited quietly for the door to open. And when it did, he continued to hold his breath.

"If you two don't shut up, you're going to regret-" The guard noticed the lack of people in the light, and immediately when that happened, Charlie came out from hiding and kicked the guard down. Before he could make any sort of noise, he kicked the man in the head and knocked him out, then used his foot to neatly push the body into the darker part of the room. Charlie then proceeded to hide, just in case anybody else came in. He looked to Trixie once all of this had been swiftly done,
"Uh...You want to do the next one?"

Amy went to her dresser to find something for her guest to wear. Artemis was about her size, so it wasn't too hard for her to come up with an outfit. She went to the door and dropped some sweatpants and a t-shirt onto the floor, then gave a light knock to the door. "Outfit's out here when you're ready," she called. She then went to the kitchenette to make some coffee.
