Artemis wasn't completely convinced but she dropped the subject. She walked back the chair and allowed herself to relax.
Amy carefully returned to the subject of the nice guard. "You said it was one guard for the block you were in. Is he the only person you saw while there?" She asked.

Vanessa straightened the collar on her blouse and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, then, taking a deep breath, knocked on the door to Han's office. It seemed best to take this matter straight to the head rather than have to explain herself numerous times to various minor people.
--------
Jaxson, despite Vanessa's instruction, stood from the chair as soon as he was sure she was gone. He took the pills then placed his empty glass in the sink. Vanessa would surely fuss about that later, but he didn't really care. He paced the room to pass the time, occasionally stopping to look at something that caught his interest in the office. He was anxious to hear wether Artemis had escaped safely. Vanessa hadn't said a word about it and his concern was growing.

"No." Artemis replied quietly. "I was taken by the guard and another woman several times to be interagated by a scientist named Mythe. I saw no one else besides the guards who attempted to stop me while escaping." Artemis finished, hoping the information she gave would satisfy Amy.

Amy hesitated, wanting to be sensitive to whatever emotions Artemis was feeling on the subject, but also wanting her curiosities satisfied. But how? Artemis seemed to be avoiding names, something that she was eager to know. She decided to try a humorous approach. "So, were they just 'the guard' and 'the lady'?" She forced a chuckle.

Artemis sighed irratably. "Jaxson. Vanessa. Mythe. Happy?" She stood and ran a hand through her hair. "It's been a really long day, I would appreciate if you asked the questions outright instead of prodding me to answer unsaid questions and thinking I don't know what you're up to." Artemis didn't want to be upset with Amy, but she didn't understand why she was playing these games with her. She was exhausted, and in pain, and hoped she could escape Amy's questions with sleep.

Amy stiffened at Artemis' reply. She had expected that answer, hoped for that answer, yet when it came, it surprised her. She stood abruptly, setting the book aside on the table, and went to refill her half full cup. The silence that suddenly fell between them was heavy, but she didn't wish to break it. Not yet, at least. It had been ages since she had heard from either of them; ages since she had heard either name spoken aloud, and this new information needed processing. She picked up the coffeepot to pour but immediately set it down. "I hope you don't mind sleeping on the couch," she said finally. "I have plenty of blankets, so it shouldn't be too uncomfortable."
