Artemis returned from the kitchen with a fresh cup of coffee in a to-go cup. "Here you go." She said quietly, sliding the cup across the counter towards Jaxson. She laid the receipt on the counter, and turned to go care for the other customers.
Jaxson laid out the correct amount of cash and took the cup. Something about her was so familiar, but he still couldn't place it. Maybe it would come to him later. Picking up his helmet, he hurried out of the shop and around the corner to where the motorcycle was and took off.

As soon as the big group was served drinks and receipts, Amy disappeared into the back. She was in desperate need of time to process what had happened but she couldn't afford to just close for the day yet. She could kick herself for letting Jenny have the few days off. Not that the girl didn't deserve it, and not that she needed her that much this morning, but things can change big time in an afternoon, and they did. Amy got herself a bottle of water but didn't drink it. Her thoughts weren't with her in this kitchen on a weekend afternoon; no, she was in the living room of her mother's house. They had just recieved word that her father and only brother had been taken in for questioning by the CMI. Everything felt like it was spinning around her now. Amy leaned against the counter, nails digging into the treated wood as she tried to balance herself.

Artemis gathered the money and neatly placed it within the cashregister. Noticing Amy's absence, Artemis served the remaining customers and made sure they were well cared for which later rewarded her with large amounts of tips that she decided to put in the tip jar at the counter instead of keeping it for herself as the customers had intended. When the crowd left she busied herself with cleaning the tables and whatever other tasks she could find to keep her mind from dwelling on unpleasant memories that had been brought up by Amy's interegation.
