Brooklyn looked away, unable to find the courage she needed to watch the fight.
Simeon eyes shone with a will to fight, the same one that caused him to join the CMI. His body braced himself for pain, but also got ready to deal it. The agent got up and jabbed twice at Simeon. He avoided the first two, but got struck on the face the third time. Blood started to flow from Simeon's face, but he responded with a roundhouse kick to the agent's stomach.

Artemis gathered the money and neatly placed it within the cashregister. Noticing Amy's absence, Artemis served the remaining customers and made sure they were well cared for which later rewarded her with large amounts of tips that she decided to put in the tip jar at the counter instead of keeping it for herself as the customers had intended. When the crowd left she busied herself with cleaning the tables and whatever other tasks she could find to keep her mind from dwelling on unpleasant memories that had been brought up by Amy's interegation.
Amy's thoughts strayed from now to the past. She could hear the noises from the shop: people laughing, mugs tapping against the table, the cash register ringing; then there was her mother, suddenly. And Vanessa, the last person she wanted to picture right now. And then her brother with his arm around Nessie's shoulders. This scene threw her off and she shook her head, trying to recall other things. She groped for the bottle of water, and when she felt the cool plastic under her fingers, she brought it to her lips to drink. There, that helped a bit. Feeling slightly refreshed, she straightened and quickly put away the remaining dishes while memories came to her at random.

Broken looked around for a weapon that could be used to sneek up behind the agent, and use the element of surprise to end Simeon's pain quicker.

When Artemis finished, she came to the kitchen and brought a load of dishes to the sink. As she began to clean the dishes, back still turned, she asked: "what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Amy said bluntly as she hung up a stack of mugs. She leaned her forehead against the cabinet and placed her hands on the counter, palms down. "No, everything," she corrected herself. She sighed sadly and shut her eyes for a moment, hoping everything was just a big nightmare. Which it was, in a sense, but not in the literal kind. Everything was real, and everything was wrong.

"I know I haven't told you much about myself," Artemis began gently, "but I'm a good listener. Ive had a lot of sorrow in my life, so whatever you have to say, I'm sure that I will understand."

Amy waited till the sound of voices died down and the door clicked close, meaning the group had left. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to close. There were only two couples left in the place and they looked to be nearly done, so as soon as they finished she would close. "It's a long story," Amy finally said. "As you're probably aware of now, I knew your guard. Know him. I'm sorry I didn't mention anything earlier, I just didn't expect it would mean anything since I hadn't seen him in years. But then he came, today of all days." She brought her hand to her forehead and leaned it against her palm, eyes once again closed as she thought. "Why on earth, I don't know. Though I'm sure it had nothing to do with you, so don't worry, you're safe here. But I know he wouldn't turn you in even if he did recognize you," she assured her. He wouldn't turn any friend in, and unbeknownst to Amy, that was the reason Vanessa Pole had caused the break.

The agent doubled back with a hook to Simeon's jaw, dislocating it. Simeon backed away in pain, before popping his jaw back in place. He rushed at the agent, fury in his eyes, and unleashed a series of punches that sent the agent to the floor, where they resumed their fight. After a few more blows from each, Simeon got up quickly and landed a kick directly on the agent's head, knocking him out. He crawled backwards, his face covered in blood.

Artemis' anger for Amy not telling her earlier that she knew Jaxson quickly diminished at her words, though she wasn't convinced it had been a coincidence that Jaxson had come in the day after she escaped. Jaxson had never done anything for out of conviction, but rather for his own gain. Causing her to believe that his nature was one that could not be trusted. "I'm not so sure." Artemis smiled softly before leaving to care for the couple as they were finishing.
