This is my first time posting a tutorial to make a cardboard nesting box, so send me any messages if you have questions about steps. What you will need is scissors , packing take, and a large piece of cardboard (big or small. make sure your chickens fit inside the cardboard box.) and another piece of cardboard, perhaps long in width and medium tall.
Step 1.
Your cardboard box should be like this, boxed and ready to use. It should be kinda tall and medium in width (around that)
Step 2.
Tape about 2 corners of the box, there should be a flap you can lift, look at the picture above. (STEP 1 PICTURE)
Step 3.
Put it so the flap is on the top, check step 1 picture 1.
Step 4.
Make triangles out of the other piece of cardboard you have so the flap will be held in place.
Cut off any extra parts
Do the same with the other side, if you havent.
This is how it would look like when your finished with the flap.
Step 5.
Take your long piece of cardboard, then measure it with the box, cut off the extra remaining part so you could tape it to hold the bedding in the box in place.
Like so,
Cut down as far as you want to, i will cut mine about this much (check picture 1 step 6)
Step 6
Now, this is optional, if you want your piece double layered, Put it on a piece of cardboard, tape it on then cut it around the piece of cardboard,Check picture.
Step 7.
Take your strip and tape it on,check pic
Like so.
Step 8
Take your piece of cardboard,
Cut it so it will fit like this
Fit across.
(OPTIONAL)
Double layer it, take the piece, tape it on a piece of cardboard
Step 9
Add bedding to it, now your done.
