Silkie are needed in every flock i think even though people say they are good layers mine lays an egg everyday i alsosuggest old english game bantam they are tiny sweet and come in beautiful colorings definatly my favorite for colors

If you're looking for pets, Silkies are the way to go. I love mine! But, don't rule out Cochins or Polish either! They're also very unique and friendly (and you can usually get them both frizzled- fun)! I miss my Cochins so much I'm on the hunt for a few frizzled girls to add into my Silkie flock

Thanks! I was actually thinking about Frizzle Cochins, but I don't know of any good hatchery websites that sell them. Let me know when you find one!

I believe Ideal and McMurray sell them. Its been a while since I've ordered from a hatchery, but I believe they offer them in white, black and red. I have their websites bookmarked, so I'll check real quick and let you know

Yep, they both have them in white, black and red. I'd think that any hatchery that has bantam Cochins would offer a few frizzles since they're pretty popular...
