I've seen some really committed guitar players get acrylic nails to play...I can't even maintain those so I don't suggest it.

I know a guy who likes to use ping pong balls. He’s an amazing guitarist and cuts the ball into crescents and then glued them on to his actual nails.

I teach band, so I play most of the instruments on the list with greatly varying degrees of proficiency. I sound like a duck when I play oboe, and like a lawnmower when on the bassoon!

Oh yes, and I know a good amount of Ukulele. But an instrument I would LOVE to learn is violin. Violin players, would y'all recommend?

If you play the type I play, yes! Its good. Although I like Ukulele more

Oboe is fun, but expensive I have not gotten to making my own reeds yet.
