Fortunately, I hatched out more of them this year than any of the others...still pisses me off when it happens. Maybe I'll catch the marauding bunch tonight. The River is about a mile from my place and being so dry, the rivers low, and probably not much for them to find to eat...so they find an easy target. This is the first time I have had a coon dig this deep and far to get into a pen...either very hungry or very determined.

I had a racoon attack last night. Skated pass the steel traps and dug under the apron and into the pen.Lost 2 Yellow golden juveniles. 1 male, 1 female.
I'm trying too! but they aren't stepping on the traps. Most likely a momma and her kids. Every year about this time, I have problems with them. Doesn't help that a neighbor thinks they are 'cute' and feeds them on their back porch and watches them.

I traped 2 groups of 5 last year...both moms with their babies. Also one group of 3 young batchelor coons.
