It was a couple weeks after 9/11 that I remember this scene:
We used to drive past the Amway World Headquarters about 5 am on the way to work. Amway has a flagpole and flag for every country in which they have distributors. After 9/11, every pole (56 of them) held an American Flag at half staff, lit from below. This particular morning, it was pouring rain, but there was no wind. Every one of those flags hung down, dripping sorrowful rain tears.
