From ‘99-‘00 I was managing a small restaurant. I knew I needed to have something for breakfast, but couldn’t handle eating so early. So I would drink a tumbler of vodka with a splash of Tropicana. I could drink anyone under the table, so that wasn’t a problem for me.

If you get martini bianco, for example, it has a long shelf life once opened and has a herbaceous flavour that lends itself pretty well to cooking.
