I left a 50 dollar prime rib out because I thought it was a bag of cans it sat on the floor for about five days.....

So I rinsed and soaked it in lemon juice for about an hour... It was smelling alot better

Am I the only one not understanding what actually happened here? Prime rib that was left out for 5 days, then soaking it for an hour made it smell a lot better? What???? Surely I’m missing something. Please help me!

I wish that I had done Mardi Gras when I was still drinking. In retrospect that might not have been so good.
