Hi Sour!Yes it is quite normal for us to get this sort of weather and snow. Our average snow fall is around 80 inches per season although we've been in a 20 year drought which has significantly reduced our snow depths. We needed this snow this season, its been quite dry.
The Rockies extend pretty far south into New Mexico. We've got plenty of 12,000 and 14,000 ft peaks here in New Mexico.I always forget how far south Colorado is...and they get tons of snow so it makes sense you would too. At least in the mountains.

Oh wow I didn’t realize thatI mean I guess I must’ve known there were mountains there but didn’t realize it was the Rockies. And I figured it was mostly desert
