Yes, I'm extraing. Yesterday I extra-ed myself on the sofa and binge watched movies most of the day.

Personal tips for those of you doing the diet thing for your self improvement. Watch your serving sizes. You can have the occasional and I have to repeat, occasional treat if you take time to look at the carton/container information and stick with the serving size. Yeah, I know, measuring stuff is a pain in the patoot but trust me they put it there for a reason. A serving size of 21 potato chips does not mean the whole bag split into 21 handfuls. Nor does it mean 21 chips, 5 times per day. It means 21 chips. Period. Same with ice cream, chocolate or any other treat we subscribe to. For me it's cheez it snack crackers. I'm addicted to the grooves type but I allow myself about 20 crackers a day.

They discovered I have diverticulosis/diverticulitis so I had to completely change the way I eat. No fatty foods, no fried foods, no red meats, no cruciferous vegetables, no whole grains, NOTHING with seeds in it. I learned that one the hard way when I ate blueberries which was on the 'good food' list and had a relapse. Doesn't matter how tiny the seeds are I absolutely cannot eat it.

I'm supposed to avoid sugar also but they told me, treat yourself every now and then. So I am....with cheeze it snack crackers.....:lau

But seriously, I read where one of the big downfalls of Americans that makes a good percentage of us overweight is that we go to restaurants and what they put in front of us looks like we are cattle residing in a fattening pen. They put enough food to feed a family of four on one platter and then people wonder why they weigh 65 pounds over their suggested weight?

Serving size!

That's my self help tip for the day/moth/year. Now everyone rush out to the kitchen and weigh./measure/count everything you eat for lunch. Look at it as being 'exercise!'.

Me? I'm sitting here waiting for a tele-visit from my doctor. he's 45 minutes late the little rat.b******.. Think I'll send him a bill for my time. My chickens need fed!

Great stuff Kiki. I fill 4 soda stream bottles for fizzy water every day…no yukky additives…and at least one of my gorgeous ball jars filled with ice water and citrus slices in the morning to get me to my first meal of the day at noon. Typical first meal is eggs and avocado to break the fast. I read that if you incorporate carbs into the first meal after a fast, it encourages your body to store them and spikes your insulin. Protein and fat gets your digestion moving but keeps
You fat burning mode and doesn’t flip the switch to burn the carbs you ate. Sounds like good science🙄

I like everyone's nutrition/meal advice. I was listening to a podcast on budgeting where the host compares some budget strategy to his diet & workout like this

You can't spend your way out of debt similar to his trainers advice - You can't outrun a cheeseburger.
 
My extra is done for Jan 5 and 7
2 walks on 5th and just finished walking today - the 7th.

Do we do our own ticker or is @Kiki or somebody doing that? Either way is ok - but I'm only able to view not edit.

I don't mind doing it but you just have to remind me to add your tickers because I do not remember well.
