I think bayous are much bigger. This dries up late in the summer. Even if something here matched the description of a bayou, it would not be called a bayou here.I think we call these bayous.
This has bentonite as its bottom and is a muck that you just keep sinking into.The difference is a bayou has a bottom and a slough has silt as its bottom which can be very think thick enough to jump out your boat and sink and drown. A bayou you can get out your boat and walk in mud that's usually not knee high. I wouldn't suggest testing either
