We are in middle Georgia, US. We do want to hatch our own every season. Thank for the tips! What region do you live in? There are cold hardy or warm weather tolerant chicken breeds, so depending on if you're in an area with heavy swings it might affect which ones work best. And did you want to hatch and raise birds for meat or order in every spring? If you do your own hatching you can raise the cockerels for meat and butcher before they turn into full on roosters.
