Why Can't You Put Quail and Chickens Together

At the age of only 4 months, my Blue Orp was killing baby wild quails in the area and took me 15 mins chasing her around the yard trying to get it out it's mouth.

Ah the living dead! Nothing on the internet truly dies, glad my childhood was pre YouTube! The main answer to this question is they are utterly different species with different requirements and needs, and quail need protection even from themselves!

This is true, but as a 1st time chicken owner this info was important to me and i also wanted to contribute my findings so people have a clear answer :)

I have chickens, ducks, and Gambels Quail that free range together all the time. I haven't had any problems, Dani Quail sleeps in the tree under her roosters (yes rooster) wing. She thinks she's a chicken by the way. Since they aren't in pens in tight quarters together I don't know if it makes a difference or not. I hatched Japanese quail and chicks together that grew up together with no problem. I don't know what to tell you there really, other than try it if you want, it works or it doesn't and you learn from it.
Do the quail go into the house at night? Do they roost on a bar or sleep in nesting boxes?
