It's funny how some people could just spend that much money and not give it a second thought.My husbands co-worker will go to Japan or where ever in the world to get a rare silkie and spend thousands! I'm thinking, are you freaken kidding me!!??!! He collects the dang things that's it! UNREAL!!! I have a hard time spending $5 on a bird.No thanks, not me!

I find it incredible that anyone would spend that kind of money on a bird; but this one is beautiful. Is it any different when some buy other animals costing thousands of dollars? Then there are some who can afford to purchase expensive clothing, tickets to an event, electronics, vacations, jewelry, etc. All of choose to save or spend our money in different ways. Of course, some of us can only dream of the day when we hit Lotto or when Ed McMahon comes a'knockin on the door!

a show bird of excellent type and color can be that expensive. There is always someone with the money that wants the best of the best. That said, the big confusion is why this bird is so expensive. We've had some silkie people give her a good looking over and, though she's a pretty gal, there is nothing spectacular about her that would warrant this kind of money.
