(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Yes, I am new to the chicken world as of a week ago. I have one hen and 3 chicks a week old now. Their rousting nest is a cat carrier. I made a dog pen into a chicken coop with chicken wire along the bottom half all the way around. I still have to fix the roof which at the moment it has a tarp covering it. I was overwhelmed last week but somewhat comfortable now.
 
I fists got chickens when I was 4 then we sold them and waited two years to get back into them... When we did I was 6 almost 7and I loved my 4-chickens.

I then got 8buffs and 4blackstars and from there I was hooked... When I was 11 I started looking into hatching out eggs so dad got me an incubator for my birthday and I hatched my first batch of eggs.... I picked out a couple chickens and crossed them to see what I would get... When my first batch of americanuanalorps hatched I was super excited... I then tried barredlorps and loved them even more... From there I just crossed and did purebred.... I now see this was a learning ground for me to jump in with both feet someday!

In 2016 I had to sell my beautiful Flock and move with family to Alaska! I have not had birds for 11-months so I'm ready to get more this August!
