1 boy, 1 girl. Which is which?

If we're going by markings...this is the female

Just for future reference, number 1 with the more prominent markings turned out to be a girl and number 2 is a boy :)
 
I don't know if this held true in your chicks, but the females generally start to get their tail feathers before the males do.
 
Unfortunately this isn't something to go on. Reading stuff like this, I had myself convinced I'd purchased 4 cockerels out of 6 birds the first time I bought chicks. I ended up ordering more from Meyer... Turned out everybody, all the chicks were females. And I'm talking about within the same breed. I originally had 2 buff brahmas, 2 light brahmas, 1 dark and the one BJG...

Oh yeah wow. I just had a big batch hatch from the same 2 parents and now I'm not so sure about the head markings, maybe the last 2 were just by chance :hmm I wish sexing chicks was that easy
