This is my first time hatching eggs under a broody. At first we only had one broody hen that was incubating the eggs until yesterday when the rest of my hens decided to join in and sit on the eggs. So there is a total of 4 hens in two nesting boxes half of them sitting on all of the eggs and the rest sitting on nothing. The eggs are due this easter weekend (awesome huh? we actually didn't plan it). Anyways my question is: will all of the broody mothers take care of the chicks or will some still try to hatch their imaginary eggs? If they do, would it be better, for the sake of time, to just let them rid out their broodiness or break it?

Give in to opportunity. Find some eggs and let them sit. Way easier than trying to break them.
