1 day old with bad leg

I just wanted to let you know many times avian bets won't know as they deal more with parrots and such. The people that keep peafowl and have had peafowl problems such as this are really times just as helpful if not more so, please go ahead and don't be afraid to wrap in the meantime while waiting to take it to the vet. :)

(She had posted this problem on a facebook pea site and I referred her here to got info and perhaps pictures.

Chicks can survive for a couple of days without feed and water, but after that they need to hydrate. Dip the chicks beak in water as often as possible, follow the burrito directions of your choice and keep the chick warm and hydrated if possible. Within four days if it survives it will need to either started eating or be tube fed. I am not sure that even the burrito will help as it looks like a twisted tibula to me. The sooner the treatment the better the chance of fixing the leg and toes, I am sorry to say it may be too late for this one, but give it a try it just might work yet.
