We just butchered our first turkey and I must say it was sad. It was our youngest Narragansett tom and he dressed out (meat and bones) at 10.5 pounds. My ? is was this a good weight for a tom that is 5 months old? And what is a good age to butcher? We killed this one off because he was fighting with the other tom and then started fighting with the hens all the time. Looks like we will be having turkey for supper tonight!
