1 Dozen - Button Quail Eggs - $10.00 Includes Priority Shipping

To answer some of the questions:

They lay roughly one egg a day, the same as chickens.

The eggs are about the size of a marble and remind me of granite in the coloring. (Dark and speckled)

The number kept together would depend on the cage size. I have had some males become agressive if they are too crowded.

The birds are about the size of a small finch when full grown.

They hatch in 17-18 days at the same temps as chicken eggs.

When they are getting ready to hatch, I put them in a wire corral in the incubator. They are amazingly quick and hard to catch even as babies. A small strawberry basket would probably work. I have had them jump out of the incubator when I lift the lid to put them in a brooder.

I know my dh will not let me get any, but I have loved button quail for sooooo long! I am really tempted to sneak some in the bator-maybe they are so small he won't even notice them! lol

Oh darn him, maybe he would think they were bumble bees for a while. That's what they remind me of when they hatch. Don't tell him that they are eggs. Maybe he would believe that they are "carefully placed humidty stones" LOL Keep trying!!!!
