I got 1 hen that started laying on Sunday and 5 that range from 2-4 weeks at the most younger than the hen that is laying. There is roughly 20 pounds left out of a 50 pound bag of start and grow feed left. I plan on to start weening them on to the layer feed in a couple days. I this going to mess up any of the Hens or the eggs that are being laid now? or is there a better way to go about this?

You can add oyster shell to the remaining feed. Then to laying pellets. Some put oyster shell onthe side as an option for the hens to chose. I didnt find this effective as my hen that is laying started having soft shells. :(

Ya, I think that I will wait on the oyster shell until they show signs of needing a supplement. If it wont hurt any hen that's not laying I am just going to switch them here shortly. Thank you .
