someone gave me two chicks that were about the same age as my others. Anyway, this little girl/guy looks to be developing little wattles and the comb is looking large. What do you think?

Also, is this maybe a RIR? Should I be worried about an aggressive rooster if so? I've heard they can be pretty mean. I do have another rooster who is 2 months old, an "araucana."

Looks like RIR cock to me. Temperment can never be determined, just handle it as much as you can. Yes the RIR can be very aggressive but so can breeds that are known to be docile.

we had a production RIR Roo that was AWESOME!!!

I had to re-home him because he was such a baby that my bantam rooster picked on him relentlessly. We held "Rose the RIR" every day until he got a new home at 10 months old.

Rose is the Rooster in my avatar.

it should be 10 hens to a rooster.. Your hens will get overmated, I do believe. Or the roosters will fight all of the time. I will be in the same dilemma pretty soon.
