Does my polish look like a pullet or cockerel?

We have just got our first Polish chicken. He/she was born Dec. 21. The last 2 days he/she has begun crowing during the day. It is rather pathetic sounding, but I thought roosters didn't start crowing until they are 4 or 5 months old. That is the other question I had, does this screeching sound mean it is a rooster for sure? We got our Polish as a straight run so are not sure.
I've had buff orpingtons my whole life, but always knew they were pullets so never had to deal with distinguishing a straight run. He has what looks like a red wattle to me, but still unsure.

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

And welcome to MY world! :barnie Yes, they CAN crow at 4 weeks old. I have a Silkie who did the same thing just recently.

No it doesn't HAVE to mean male... but them red waddles definitely do. :hmm

He's a little cutie. :love

ETA: the thick legs in pic 1 are also a pretty good indicator. But at this age them red waddles won't be lying.

It's probably a cockerel, we had a straight run of sebright bantams and the males were all crowing by 6wks old. It was hilarious, since their crows were less like a crow and more like a squeek.

I agree with EggSighted4Life, those wattles solidify the identification as a cockerel. Compare the wattle development of your polish chicks with each other, a pullet's wattles normally stay small until the hormone surge right before they're about to start laying. Then they grow and brighten in color.
