Hello everyone,
Found this forum and was hoping to get some help.

I Saved a pigeon,and then later another.
Now they got together and had 2 babys born april 14th.
There in the house..
One of them started falling down, and now after 5 days or so,walks with its wings to get around.
Seems one leg is not good at all,and the other just a tad better.
So there almost 5 weeks old.

Nothing different happened, and they are healthy too.
Just couldnt figure it out.Seems mom n day throat feed the other one now,and not sunny(thats its name :) )
So sunny I have been feeding. They love popcorn, and seeds.

They were in mydresser, now in my living room..Was planning to get them outside as I built a house for them, and wanted them back in nature as intended.

But cant walk,so wont be able to fly.As they need to jump up to get going.

The other one is fine..They cant really fly yet,but they can jump n fly up a little on things..So young birds yet.

I havent done nothing different..I think this started in the dresser where they were born..But didnt see no signs of this in there..
The other one had string around foot and was swollen, and only walked on 1 foot, but i cut the nesting stuff off mom brought to the dresser, and hes fine lol

The worry is on sunny the other one.
I pick him up and try to excercise the leg every now and then..Seems ones pretty much dead as far as movement.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Oh,I give sunny drinks of water throughout the day too.Got to hold a bowl in front of him..
Thanks,
Mick

Does the baby have 'splayed leg'? Can you show a picture?
This thread is about splayed leg.

Frozen peas thawed in warm water is good to feed if it doesn't eat on its own yet. If you feed seeds or unpopped popcorn then he needs some grit also.

No its not spayed leg,or spread..Hes not able to be stood on..They do move a little ,,but he walks with his wings and drags them behind to get around..I did some research and i ordered some bird calcium from ebay..
Cant really show a pic because he sitting on his legs..They seem to be unhurt or anything too... Not sure if i could upload a video of him walking here...
The popcorn is popped. They all love it lol.

If its not splayed leg then its probably something viral with neurological effects. I' not sure if he will recover. @Hokum Coco - What do you think? Popped pop corn is not ideal, can he eat seeds on his own?
The canned peas are too mushy to feed easily and don't taste as good as the frozen thawed one.:D

are the legs to the side when it is on the ground? If not, that seems to be brain injury. Did it ever fly and hit anything?

No, the canned peas won't work. They have salt and other things. just get straight frozen peas, thaw them in warm water, and force feed them. Easy PEAsy. :)the

can you take the bird to the vet? this is very serious if it isn't splayed leg.
