1 month old Pigeon cant walk

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

@Hokum Coco - What do you think?

Upon viewing the video a lot of fanciers would cull this bird.
Trust me when I say pigeons have been culled for a lot less.
I like you do not always agree with this choice.
I think it had some neurological damage from the time it hatched.
Does the leg seem to be dislocated from the hip?
Is there any sign of improvement?
What quality of life do you think it has in store?

I am really at a loss as to tell you how to proceed.
I can sense you love animals and want the best for you squeaker.
However you have to realize hard choices are a fact of life.
It is "WRONG" to give guidance on a 28 sec video clip with no insight.
Do what is best for you conscience and the squeaker.
Give it some time before you make a decision.
Then I would follow your heart.
I am sure it will be the right choice.

Hi,
No dislocation..Will know if any improvement later todasy.Giving calcium..Thanks for your input :)

I would start with whatever calcium you have until the bird version gets there, as long as there are no other ingredients in it. I have had 3 completely lame pigeons fully recover in about a week or two. Don't cull until you've tried this!
Well thats good.. Yes,I exercise him as well :) Even got his own food bowl,so hes set lol.
Hes got a wide board he gets up to the nest on,but i help too :)
Thank you.

OP, so sorry for you and your bird.. that looks really bad.

Good advise so far.. and please keep up with the calcium and also natural unfiltered sunlight will help with vitamin D and calcium take up by the birds body.

I had a thought it might be a virus, or even Salmonella (which can cause paralysis). Years ago my birds got a virus and they got paralysis of the legs and wings, and then died.

If you notice the wings getting stiff, or the bird stopping feeding then it is probably something like this. I would guess not to do with calcium as the other bird was OK on the same care and diet, right?

How about giving the legs some gentle massage and physio. Anything is worth a try. I would say that if there is no sign of improvement after a couple of weeks it might be kinder to have the bird put to sleep, as it can't really have a happy life like that.

keeping my fingers crossed he gets better soon.
