Relaxing with my Buns
My 3 silkie hens lost their husband in June, the day he died, ALL 3 of them sat on the last 2 eggs(that were in the nest) Then 21 days later, 1 purebred silkie chick popped out! The other egg was rotten. Anyway a month later I am noticing the baby was walking funny. So I scooped him up, and it looks like he is starting to get bumblefoot! He has little scabs on his feet and his left foot is a little swollen. I have read that you have to do surgery to get it all out! But he is just a little chick.
Please any help or advice would be wonderful
Oh and he is free range walking on grass.

I have cured two different chickens of bumble foot. I take antibiotic ointment and rub it on the affected area at least twice a day for 2 weeks until the plug is gone and the skin completely healed and closed. I am a pharmacy technician and used mupirocin 2% ointment. You can probably use neosporin, bacitracin, or something similar.
