1 of 8 hatched. Too soon to get more?

Well, i was trying to add to my small flock and i had a broody hen so I purchased some fertile eggs. 1 hatched right at 22 days (Saturday) and seems to be doing great.

I don't think the rest are going to hatch.

Is it too soon to try and put some more eggs under momma hen? She seems to not sit as much now that she has that one little chick around.

Now that she has a chick she's done hatching eggs. She's switched into chick care mode. She's now going to be up with the chick, not sitting on a nest. She won't hatch more eggs for you at this point. If you want to hatch more, you'll have to wait for the next broody hen or get an incubator.

Same mommy hen has gone broody 3 times in the past year. I'll wait and see if she does again.
