HELP, advice needed. having a flock of chicks has been a lifetime dream of mine. I researched and finally last week bought 7 chicks, 3 Road Island Reds and 4 Buff Orpingtons. All is going well, EXCEPT I didn't know in all my research, my town requires a permit. Not a big deal I thought, however, it is so detailed, I have to appear before a Board of Health Town Meeting which I cant get on the list until June and by then my flock will need to be outdoors. and technically they say I cant build my coop until I have received my permit which like I said wont be until at least June.. I also have to send all my neighbors certified letters asking their approval for me to have chickens....
Do I tell the Board of Health the truth that I already have the chicks and face whatever fines or sanctions are coming my way? Or do I play dumb and skip the permit?
Thank you in advance I am very stressed by this whole process
