1 week old, suddenly not moving

I really feel for you, too. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. I just lost 4 Araucana chicks, all rumpless, tufted and sooo cute between 2 days and 3 weeks old....they had pasty butts and I think, failure to thrive. Sending extra prayers.....I know how it can wear you down.

Lost her this morning, sadly. Her poor little bod just couldn't hang...she just got worse and worse all day, unable to keep her eyes open or take any water by last night. She was my favorite of the three...it's been a hard couple days. thanks for everyone's help, I sure appreciated the support and suggestions yesterday. What a great community on this forum!

Oh hon. I'm so sorry. That's how it went with our littlest runt, and it made me so very sad. And as CluckCluck said it can wear you down. Look to your other little ones to bring you smiles and enjoyment, I know mine did.

I had a chick go sick at 3 weeks old back in April so I took her to the vet and he gave me Lafeber's critical care nutrition (Avian) as she had stopped eating and drinking. I syringe fed her this for a week and she is now the top hen of the flock! It's pricey and you can only get it via a vet but I now keep it in my cabinet/
