1 year old Roo falling over and breathing heavily. purple/ black comb

Thanks for giving more details about your Rooster. I have summarized your description below:
  • 1 yr old Rooster has been sick since the beginning of Oct.
  • Has not crowed since becoming ill (did previously)
  • Rooster recovered briefly in Nov. after medication, but worsened again in December (@Aimen please post what this medication is called and active ingredients)
  • Rooster is eating, drinking & pooping regularly. Seems to have energy = will run out of cage when it is opened. (@Aimen please give specific information on what food you got at the pet store. Is it made for chickens? How much protein does it contain? Does you Rooster mostly eat this food? and the other foods mentioned are treats= less than 10% of his daily diet?)
  • Current weight 1 kg. = 2.2 lbs
  • Symptoms: Looses balance and falls over while breathing heavily/struggling for air. Roo will panic and flap wings but can not stand back up by himself. Comb is tipped in purple and black but will turn red when he is taken out into the full sun. Recently developed yellow bumps on face /comb that can be wiped off.
  • Poop: wet and brown
  • Since he got sick (October) your Rooster has been living inside in a cage covered with a blanket for warmth. (@Aimen How often does he go outside? get out of the cage to exercise and run around?)
  • -
  • 4 brooder mates have died. Their symptoms before death:"They stopped walking. Eyes closed. I wraped each one of them with blankets but they all died in the morning."

1) Can you post photos or video? This will help you to get the best feedback. We need to see how your rooster is looking/moving now. If you have video of him loosing balance that would be really helpful.

I am going to tag some of the local experts to see if they can help out: @Eggcessive, @Wyorp Rock, @oldhenlikesdogs , @aart , @lazy gardener

I assume OP is not in US? I'm guessing the bird has some illness that is affecting his heart or circulation. The lesions on his face could be an indication of either bacterial or viral illness. I would suggest a necropsy of the next bird to die. Perhaps call your local or state Agricultural vet or extension agent if you have such a thing in your area. Sorry, I can't help.

I'm sorry but I'm not able to post any pictures or videos for I dunno what reason.
Other than that, on the basis of the following symptoms what do you think is the conundrum all about.
He goes out in the garden very often. I take him out after about every three hours or so and he loves it. He follows me outside to the garden and usually catches worms but now he stopped eating them. When its sunny outside, He just lays down( deliberately) and enjoys the sun. He bathes in the sand but because of the winters, it is mostly cold or damp so I don't let him do that. He really is pretty normal. Just shows these little signs that worry me. Also, please tell me if this can be an ear infection.
