I’ve noticed the last few days that my one year-old wellsummer has been sort of leaning to one side when she walks and favoring one leg. There’s no injury evident. It’s only been a couple days that I’ve noticed this, so maybe it will improve.

She is healthy otherwise, and is one of the more dominant birds of my flock.

Any thoughts on what this might be? The photos don’t really show much. You can see it a bit in video but I can’t seem to upload it here.

The best way to see a video is to upload it to YouTube with a link posted here. Does she hold the leg up or try to put weight on it? Does she grasp your finger when you stroke her foot pad?

She does put a good amount of weight on it. And it is certainly one leg, not both. She does grasp my finger when I stroke her foot pad.

I’ll upload the video later when I get to my computer. Thanks

As you can see, she is still quite mobile but favoring her right side. She limps, kind of curls her toes at times. While foraging, she’ll sit down when she finds a spot and forages while sitting.

Thoughts on this?

No obvious injury. Could she have fallen off of the roost at night? Something else?
