My 1 yo black australorp was abruptly lying on the ground, eyes closed, weak. I have 10 chickens, poop is just now yellow instead of the white. Sick hen won't eat or drink. Please help. Could this be cocci? Should I try corrid or sulamet?

I don't know if this will help but I had a hen (about the same age) who did the exact same thing. I brought her inside and tried to put water in her beak. I read somewhere if they get dehydrated their poop will turn yellow. I kept her isolated and fed her some oatmeal mixed with honey for a few days. She was unable to walk or even stand. After a few days she began to get stronger and now she is one of my best hens. I hope this helps and I am sorry you are going through this.

Thank you ladies for your help and words of encouragement. My chicken died, in the afternoon, and I just don't know why. Maybe eggbound, maybe egg peritonitis. She only would take a couple of drops of water, then nothing, and she went pretty fast. But, she was warm and in a cushioned box, which is all I could do for her at the last. Thank you again for all your kind words.
