Usually she's very friendly, I ve been feeding her a mixture of egglayers, scatch , and some vegetables. Now she wont move when i come in their area. She's frozen and has diarrhea!

I have a couple of Buff Orpington hens that might be 2 years old and I have noticed that there back ends are nasty looking and there combs have drooped. I don't know if it is from age or some other under lying problem. This is all I have been able to find so far.

What Are the Causes of Diarrhea in Chickens

Diarrhea in chickens is generally a symptom of a larger disease or condition that requires treatment. The disease may be contagious or infectious, so isolate the sick chicken and employ a regimen of good housekeeping in the chicken house.

Internal Parasitic Diseases
1. Diarrhea can indicate an internal parasitic disease such as the presence of ascarids, large intestinal roundworms.
Respiratory Diseases
2. Diarrhea can indicate respiratory diseases such as Newcastle disease, avian influenza, infectious coryza, laryngotracheitis and mycoplasma gallisepticum.
Nonrespiratory Viral Diseases
3. Diarrhea can be a sign of nonrespiratory viral diseases such as Marek's disease, lymphoid leukosis, equine encephalitis and egg drop syndrome.
Nonrespiratory Bacterial Diseases
4. Diarrhea can be a symptom of nonrespiratory bacterial diseases such as fowl cholera, pullorum, necrotic enteritis and staphylococcus.
Protozoan Diseases
5. Some protozoan diseases, such as coccidiosis and blackhead, cause diarrhea.
