1 yr old silver appleyard Prolapse 😥

she is still in the nest and hisses at me. but I know she’s been getting off the nest to eat and drink because I see signs of that and I see her big watery poops near the food and water, but I have not yet been able to see her bottom if her prolapses holding inside because she’s not coming off that nest while I’m down there , and I wanted to make sure she is securely broody before I pick her up off the nest to check on her bottom side —and should i continue calcium gluconate at this point? wait don’t answer that I’m going to go down and check her bottom and count the eggs that I put in there to see how she is doing and if she laid another one or not first brb——
OK ETA-
She is in tact no prolapse, but she does NOT want me to dig out the eggs to count them LOL
so i think maybe she doesn’t need any more calcium. ?
and i decided against antibiotics at this time.
i don’t want to mess with her while she’s settling into her broodiness state.

I think you can stop the calcium. Hopefully this broody rest will heal her up good

X2.. are these eggs fertile?
nope. And I wonder how long she can sit on them safely before they’re at risk of 💥 explosions?
actually, there’s a slight chance that a couple of them might be fertile. I just took the eggs that my flock laid yesterday and put them all under her. Only two of my females have ever been with a Drake and it was nine weeks ago.
I was thinking I may have to switch the eggs out for new ones at some point before they explode? Either that or buy some fertile duck eggs locally but I don’t want more ducks except actually of course I want more ducks, but I really shouldn’t…(( if I did get turtle eggs, perhaps I could sell the dumplings lol )) 😂 not fixing that typo i like it tooo much

You could buy some egg decoys if you really don't want any babies or hardboil some but I'm not sure if that'd work or if they'd end up smelling really bad
