Hello all. Second batch of chicks hopefully coming around June. Today I drew up a coop blueprint to help determine if it will be suitable for 6-10 large breed hens. I would like to hear anyone's advice as to if the coop will be sufficent. As of now it will be Ten feet wide, eight feet high(at the rear of coop) and 20 feet in length. Two roof vents along with two windows and a double walk in door. Thanks in advance and please feel free to leave comments, suggestions ect.

Sounds GREAT!!!

Would love to see your blueprint.

OH MY that is most certainly large enough. I have an 8x14 with 19 birds in there and there is room to spare.

This is just a start. I hope to have many more thro broody hens and trying incubation myself. So it's good to know that I'll have a decent amount of room for more chicks.

Yes, it's large enough and still room to add more chickens.

Can't wait to see your first draft blueprint! The double-door is an excellent idea.

400

I hope this gives everyone an idea of what I'm trying to achieve. Probably not the best picture.

Can't quite read the dimensions...try taking the pic from straight above the drawing.
Is it drawn to scale?
