I have kept the chicks on paper towels for ease and cleanliness, and haven't seen any eating of it until today. A little wild-looking EE pulled off and snarfed down a strip of paper towel about 1 in. + long, up to 1/2 in. wide. They are fed only chick starter and have not had any grit. Will this pass through the chick OK? Would providing grit help? It seems OK so far, after a couple of hours.

Thanks for any tips. First time owned by peeps. Not sure how much to worry. They are a blast and, of course, this one's my fav.

I wouldn't worry they eat far worse when they get older and as far as grit I have never given any of my chicks it.
