10 day old chick that chirps loudly when pooping

Thanks for your reply. They have just been moved to a bigger brooder, so hopefully that will help her get better. If anything changes I'll post.

No other syptoms but still the loud chirping and having hard time pooping. They have all been moved out to larger brooder in coop. I checked her yesterday and her vent looks yucky. Not red but looks pushed out. Not inside pushed out,
Did you ever find out what this was? Or was the issue resolved? I have one doing the same thing. Acts normal. Eats and drinks normal, but seems to have a hard time pooping. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I’m a first timer!

Make sure to only give it oats if you have been giving it chick grit.

I read a few articles just now about it and a lot of people would put a little bit of olive oil or coconut oil in the food and said it really helped. I've never tried the oil myself... I have however had great success with enemas in constipated and pasty butt chicks. Using a needle-less syringe and just about 1ml, of warm water, or with a baby dropper about half a table spoon. it will loosen any blockages and help them get hydrated if they aren't drinking. I would do this 3 or 4 times a day or until the blockage is removed and the bowls are moving normally. Be careful of course when doing this.

Hopefully someone else will have some advice for you too.

one of my chicks is doing the same thing, looks like she is pushing so hard her vent comes out, I did use coconut oil in her water and that helps, when she goes she chirps weird, she’s smaller then the other chicks, just to let you know it did start out as pasty butt.

What did you do to help her?
