10 pound hens?

Hatched another 16 of The Florida last night.
I never get tired of these things.
I got 13 white and 3 black this time.
That was in my Incuview.
My Brinsea is due to hatch in a few days but it's been trying to overheat.
Not selling many birds due partly to Tractor Supply extending Chick Days all Summer long this year but I am still hatching like a madman because I believe that people will eventually realize how special these birds are.

Barred Rock genes are overwhelming in just about any mix.
I'm now hatching some 87% Dixie Rainbow birds and their genes are finally dominating.
Their daddy is white and about 12 pounds.
Their momma weighs 12 pounds.
The oldest batch is about 2 months old.
I hatched 5 of these Florida Golds and all 5 are pullets!
Lots of chicks coming in behind them.
I'm hoping that these hens reach 10 pounds.

I weighed one of the mature hens from my smaller Rainbow Rock line.
8 lbs. 3 oz.

Are Rainbow Rocks a new breed?
Had never heard of them before.

Hatched 29 more this week.
Someone was supposed to buy a bunch of chicks tonight but never showed up.
I dropped the price to $2 apiece.

You are doing good by hatching her eggs. If she were my hen, I would hatch her eggs till the end of her days.
