This exactly 10 week old Ancona is one birds I received as day old chicks from my pet chicken, sexed female.
I got two Anconas, this one has huge comb and wattles and the other doesn't at all. This bird was quickest to grow and develope of the 12 mix breeds, and is, has always been, about 50% bigger than the other Ancona or the only other mediterranean (white layer) I got, a white leghorn. I know that Anconas end up with massive combs, and that many misidentify pullets as roos to be BUT this is a lot of comb.
Also today, noisy, not crow but the loud complainer feed me treat noise my grown hens make.
So should I keep watching this "pullet" or is this a cockeral for sure?
