I bought 3 straight run Buff Laced Polish chicks HOPING for at least one hen! Now that they are 10 weeks old there is definitely a difference. We can’t have roosters in our community so if sweet Hazel is one - I will have to find a new home for him. 😩 The first pics are of Hazel. All the indicators I’ve researched (punk style top knot, larger legs, bigger body, longer tail feathers) point to roo so I’d love some insight from more experienced chicken owners. 😊

The first 3 pics are of Hazel and the last picture is of Phoebe who I think is a pullet. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Thank you so much! I’ve sent the pictures to the owner of a local farm who raises chickens. She said the Polish breed matures so much slower it’s hard to tell. I knew someone on here would know!! 😀😀
They are not wrong. 10 weeks is a little young and things "may" change in a couple of weeks. Males in this breed and variety will have darker shoulder patches as can be seen in your cockerel. Watch out for that in Pheobe and please update! ❤️

Pheobe looks like a pullet so far though. Good luck!

I’m beyond excited to share with you that I found a home where all 3 boys can go together where they will still be loved on and pampered! Hazel will join brothers Scarlet and Magnolia at a woman’s house who LOVES her animal menagerie!! If our other two Buff Laced Polish mature into cockerels- we’ll have to cross that bridge later - LOL! Just wanted them to be LOVED!

That's amazing! Congrats. :)
