10 week old Barred Rock - male or female?

Hi there! Not sure if this will help but I went back through my photos and found a pic or my Barred Rock pullets at 10 weeks old. If you zoom in, you can see that their combs are not very developed and are a pale pink (especially compared to the Olive Egger cockerel next to them). They are also much darker than the male Barred Rocks because their barring is more even and males have double white.

I can't help you with the breed but if yours is a Barred Rock, that's most likely a cockerel.

Wow yes, their barring is much darker! Thank you, that does help.

If the person you bought the chicks from is making sex linked Olive eggers, the males would be single barred(cuckoo is just fast feathered barring). They also could also be hatching cuckoo marans. Marans are often used to produce Olive eggers
