Sounds like they are cold or too hot.We just got this chick and she doesn't seem quite right... tail down, sitting down alot and cheeping alot, loose stool - yellow brownish. any thoughts? thanks!
Did you add her with any of her brood mates? She could just be lonely.she is 8 - 10 weeks old and she is with 4 other pullets... Eating crumbles and drinking water with ACV and garlic in it... I was thinking she might be cold and have taken a heat lamp out there. She is younger than the others...
X2. I would treat for coccidiosis, too.I agree with aoxa, the chick could be cold if cheeping. But see the following if that isn't the problem (if you warm the chick and it still doesn't act right):
She is at the right age for coccidiosis. Is she eating and drinking? If not, I'd suspect coccidiosis. There are strains that you don't see bloody poo with, but you can notice diarrhea.
Take a look at the poo page:
(there is a normal caecal poo every 8 poos or so that is liquid but the other poos should be formed)

Check this symptom list and see if it matches up with what you are seeing:
lethargic
feathers fluffed up as if cold
won't eat or drink
usually 8 weeks or under but can be older if immunocompromised or exposed to different cocci
sits by herself in corner
closes eyes
Treatment is Corid 9.6% solution, 9.5 ml per gallon of water for 5 days. Mix a new solution each day to keep it fresh. Treat all exposed to the poo of the chicken.
